Civil Litigation is an incredibly broad subject area.
Essentially, it includes any kind of litigation that is not criminal,
family, or probate. No firm can say it specializes in civil
litigation, although tere are many firms specializing in small parts of
civil litigation, i.e. products liability, medical malpractice, personal
injury, etc. Many times, if you have a dispute that falls into one
of those categories, it is best to go to a firm that specializes in that
kind of litigation. This is partially because they already have
the expert witnesses that will evaluate you and testify as to your
damages.
However, if your dispute falls outside of these
areas, you may be better served by a firm such as ours. We will
meet with you and discuss your dispute, lay out what we believe is the
best course of action. Sometimes, litigation is not the answer.
Sometimes a negotiated solution will get you where you want to go.
However, when litigation is necessary, there is no substitute for having
a lawyer in your corner that will fight for you.
I will meet with you, discuss your case and tell you
what I think is required to resolve the dispute in your favor. I
have dealt extensively with contract disputes and other kinds of
disputes. I have successfully become involved with disputes
between insured parties and their insurance companies.
Have you been sued?
I have successfully represented parties who have
found themselves having to defend themselves against a lawsuit.
The most important advice that I can give you is this: "Ignore it and it
will go away" is NOT sound advice when you have received a summons.
You need to immediately seek legal advice. If you
find yourself in this situation, you have 20 days to answer the summons
or a default judgment will be entered against you.
I stand ready to meet with you and discuss the
allegations contained in the "Petition" and assist you with the
preparation of an answer and preserve any legal defense that you may
have to the allegations that are contained in that petition. We
see our job as two fold: first to defend you against the suit and second
as to mitigate the potential exposure and to resolve the suit with the
least possible loss to you. All the way, it is our goal to provide
you with both competent representation and good advice. Feel free
to contact us to discuss your case and the options available to you
under law.
